LECTURER – ENGINEERING
Required: August 2019
Permanent Contract: 0.5-0.6 Full Time Equivalent (negotiable), with the potential to increase this to full-time if you can offer other subjects
Salary: £23,255 to £37,000 pro rata depending on qualifications and experience
There is also a Responsibility Allowance Band C of £1500 pa for Engineering course leadership which may be available for the right candidate (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated lecturer in Engineering to work in a friendly and supportive team in a thriving and forward-looking department.
You will have the skills to teach towards BTEC Engineering. Teaching and learning in both these areas is very strong and recruitment is growing in the engineering sciences. You will also be able to become a personal tutor, almost certainly with an engineering group. If you have experience in BTEC administration and internal verification procedures there may also be an additional annual responsibility allowance available for the right candidate.
We work closely with an innovative STEM Academy, local schools and industry, and have a record of outstanding achievement.
Ideally candidates should possess a good honours degree and a teaching qualification. Experience of employment in the engineering sector would be also advantageous. The College is very supportive of new entrants into the teaching profession and we also consider applications from graduates who are willing to undertake a supported teaching qualification with us as part of their professional development.
